DIY Framed Shark Teeth

When we visited our parents last Christmas, Evan found a ton of Mako, Nurse, and Sand Tiger shark teeth his grandfather had given him when he was a kid.  He was so excited about finding them again, so I wanted to surprise him with a special way to display them at our house.  Besides, who says that shark teeth can't be beautiful decor?

We had an old picture frame at home that was gray and looked weathered, almost like driftwood.  I thought it'd be perfect for these teeth.  I took out the extra cushions within the frame to leave it only with the shell of the frame itself, its glass, and the cardboard backing.  I originally planned to glue a piece of cardstock onto the backing, but the cardboard itself looked rustic, too.  Therefore, I arranged a selection of shark teeth directly onto the cardboard backing to see what it'd look like.

Using a hot glue gun, I dabbed a bit of glue to the backside of each tooth and applied them directly to the cardboard.  I chose to use a glue gun instead of super glue, just in case Evan ever wanted to remove the shark teeth from the frame.

Almost done!

To finish the project, I simply placed the cardboard backing back into the frame.

Totally easy, right?

Evan flipped out when he saw the teeth hanging on our wall.  It was such a simple project, but it meant a lot to him.  Plus, I must admit that it's pretty cool to have shark teeth hanging in our house.

Similar frames would be perfect for beach houses, bathrooms, man caves, and kids' bedrooms.

Hope you like these framed shark teeth as much as we do!  Live every week like it's Shark Week.  :)
